The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released Indonesia's export-import data for December 2024 today (15/1). In December 2024, the value of Indonesia's exports reached US$23.46 billion, which decreased on a monthly basis by 2.24 percent, but increased on an annual basis by 4.78 percent. So that Indonesia's exports in 2024 will reach US$264.70 billion, an increase of 2.29% compared to 2023.
The value of imports in December 2024 reached US$21.22 billion, which increased monthly and annually, by 8.10 percent and 11.07 percent. Thus, Indonesia's imports in 2024 will reach US$233.66 billion, an increase of 5.31 percent compared to 2023.
In December 2024, Indonesia's goods trade balance again experienced a surplus of US$2.24 billion. Thus, Indonesia's trade balance in 2024 will reach US$31.04 billion. Indonesia's Trade Balance has recorded a surplus for 56 consecutive months since May 2020.
BPS also released Indonesian poverty data for the second semester of 2024.
"The percentage of the poor population has entered the range of 8 percent (8.57%), or the lowest percentage figure in previous years," said Acting Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti. Although the poverty line in September 2024 increased by 2.11 percent, the number of poor people in September 2024 was recorded to decrease by 1.16 million people when compared to March 2024.
