Abstract

  • The East Java Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) for May 2023 rose 0.68 percent from 106.66 to 107.39. The increase in FTT was due to the price index received by farmers (It) which increased by 1.17 percent, which was higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which increased by 0.49 percent.
  • In May 2023, three agricultural sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP and two other sub-sectors experienced a decrease in NTP. The sub-sector that experienced the highest increase in NTP was the Hortculture sub-sector by 2.12 percent from 115.33 to 117.78, followed by the Livestock sub-sector by 1.11 percent from 102.29 to 103.43, and the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.44 percent from 107.82 to 108.30. Meanwhile, the sub-sector that experienced the highest decline in NTP was the fisheries sub-sector by 1.07 percent from 100.78 to 99.70, followed by the People's Plantation Plantation sub-sector by 0.58 percent from 101.63 to 101.04.
  • Of the five provinces on Java Island that carried out NTP calculations in May 2023, four provinces experienced an increase in NTP with the highest increase in Central Java at 1.05 percent, followed by East Java at 0.68 percent, West Java at 0.17 percent, and Banten by 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta was the only province that experienced a decrease in NTP with a decrease of 0.29 percent.
