Abstract

  • East Java's economy grew in the second quarter of 2023 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reaching IDR 735.70 trillion, while GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 460.99 trillion.
  • East Java's economy in the second quarter of 2023 against the first quarter of 2023 grew by 2.66 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Business Fields which grew by 3.15 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Component which grew by 24.47 percent.
  • East Java's economy in the second quarter of 2023 against the second quarter of 2022 increased by 5.24 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field which grew by 13.90 percent. From the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Consumption Expenditure Component of Nonprofit Institutions Serving Households (PK-LNPRT), which grew by 8.25 percent.
  • Structurally, the Processing Industry Business Field dominates the economic structure of East Java in Quarter II-2023 with a contribution of 30.17 percent, while from the expenditure side it is dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) with a contribution of 61.23 percent.
