Abstract

East Java's economy grew in the first quarter of 2024 as measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) on the basis of prevailing prices reaches Rp764.33 trillion, while GDP on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reached IDR 470.63 trillion.

East Java's economy experienced the first quarter of 2024 against the fourth quarter of 2023 Growth of 1.16 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Water Procurement Business Field which grew by 4.84 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Component Exports of Goods and Services grew by 3.83 percent.

East Java's economy increased in the first quarter of 2024 against the first quarter of 2023 by 4.81 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field which grew by 14.89 In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Component Consumption Expenditure of Nonprofits Serving Households (PKLNPRT) which grew by 18.06 percent.

Structurally, the Processing Industry business field dominates the structure East Java economy in the first quarter of 2024 with a contribution of 31.54 percent, while in terms of expenditure is dominated by the Expenditure Component Household Consumption (PK-RT) with a contribution of 61.37 percent.
