Abstract

In July 2024, there will be year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in East Java province of 2.13 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.41. The highest inflation of 3.45 percent occurred in Sumenep with a CPI of 108.80 and the lowest inflation occurred in Kediri City at 1.53 percent with a CPI of 105.66.

y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by the increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.62 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.62 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.45 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.95 percent; health group by 1.96 percent; transportation group by 1.38 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 1.19 percent; education group by 1.97 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.94 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 5.57 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index, namely: information, communication, and financial services group by 0.44 percent.
