Abstract

The increase in HDI in 2024 occurs in all dimensions, both longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and decent living standards.
Although all dimensions of HDI have increased, HDI growth in 2024 has slowed down compared to the previous year.
In the dimensions of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2024 have an expectation to live up to 73.93 years, an increase of 0.13 years compared to those born in the previous year. The source of life expectancy data at birth uses the results of the 2020 LongForm Population Census (SP2020-LF).
In the knowledge dimension, the school life expectancy (HLS) of the 7-year-old population increased by 0.01 years, from 12.63 years (2023) to 12.64 years (2024). Meanwhile, the average length of schooling (RLS) for residents aged 25 years and above increased by 0.02 years, from 6.29 years (2023) to 6.31 years (2024). The HLS and RLS data sources use the results of the March 2024 Susenas.
The dimension of living standards measured based on the average real expenditure per capita per year (adjusted) increased by 502 thousand rupiah (4.27 percent) compared to the previous year. The source of data on real expenditure per capita per year uses the results of the March 2024 Susenas.
