Abstract

The number of labor force in February 2024 will increase by 720.40 thousand people to as many as 24.14 million people compared to February 2023. Force Participation Rate Employment (TPAK) amounted to 73.02 percent, up 1.52 percentage points compared to February TPAK 2023.

The working population is 23.24 million people or an increase of 831.28 thousand people compared February 2023. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector experienced the largest decrease in the number of workers, which decreased by 230.73 thousand person. In contrast, the Large Trade and Retail, Car Repair and Maintenance Sectors and Motorcycles experienced the largest increase in the number of workers, which increased amounted to 412.02 thousand people.

A total of 8.57 million people (36.88 percent) worked in formal activities, up 1.42 The proportion of full-time workers decreased by 1.99 percentage points to 62.92 percent in February 2024. However, the number of full-time workers is as large as 14.62 million people, an increase of 78.64 thousand people compared to February 2023.

Vocational High School (SMK) graduates have the highest TPT in East Java, namely by 6.42 percent, followed by high school graduates who have TPT by 4.64 percent.
