Abstract

The number of labor force in August 2024 is 24.38 million people, increasing around 513 thousand people compared to August 2023. Batch Participation Rate Work (TPAK) by 73.45 percent, up 0.89 percentage points compared to TPAK August 2023.

The working population is 23.36 million people or an increase of 657.93 thousand people compared to August 2023. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector experienced the largest increase in the number of workers, which increased by 200.95 thousands of people. The majority of major job sectors experienced an increase in absorption workforce except for the Other Service Sector and the Information and Communication Sector.

A total of 9.00 million people (38.51 percent) work in formal activities or increase 1.62 percentage points compared to August 2023.

The proportion of full-time workers decreased by 0.88 percentage points. However, the number of full-time workers increased by around 238.16 thousand people compared to August 2023 to 15.50 million people.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for August 2024 is 4.19 percent or down 0.69 percentage points compared to August 2023.

Graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMK) still have the highest TPT in Java East, which is 6.81 percent, followed by high school graduates who have a TPT of 6.69 percent and DIV/S1/S2/S3 graduates with TPT 5.33 percent.
