Abstract

 The number of labor force in August 2024 increased by 40,079 people to

678,129 people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) was 69.48 percent, an increase of 3.7 percentage points compared to the August 2023 TPAK.

 The working population is 657,798 people. The jobs in Probolinggo Regency that absorb the most labor are in the agricultural sector while the least is in the manufacturing sector. The agricultural sector was able to absorb 45.22 percent of the working population, while the service sector absorbed 37.16 percent and the manufacturing absorbed 17.62 percent of the working population.

 A total of 196,458 people (29.87 percent) worked in formal activities, an increase of 1.10 percentage points compared to August 2023.

 The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 3.00 percent, down 0.24 percentage points compared to August 2023.

 Diploma I/II/III graduates have the highest TPT in Probolinggo Regency, which is 12.29 percent, followed by Vocational High School (SMK) graduates who have a TPT of 9.15 percent.
